Durnford Medical Centre runs a full appointments only service using telephone and video consultations, all of which are booked via reception on 0161 643 5960 or the web link- www.patient.co.uk/access
Consultations may be pre-booked in advance for patients who have work or other commitments, but most patients should contact the surgery as early as possible on the day that they wish to have an appointment. Face to Face appointments or home visits may only be booked where appropriate following a telephone consultation with a doctor.
The doctors' and nurses' surgeries run every morning and afternoon. Please state the reason for the consultation when booking as certain tasks may require more time than a routine booking period or may require specialist equipment or personnel with specific skills (e.g. a room equipped with a height adjustable examination couch for patients who have restricted mobility or a doctor who is qualified to perform certain joint injections) as these may only be available on certain days or by prior arrangement.
If you think you will require additional time for your appointment for other reasons, please tell the receptionist when booking the appointment.
You may not even need to talk to a doctor for certain matters such as the completion of forms/sick notes and you will be advised of this if you inform the receptionist, they can often be dealt with via on-line consulting.
Please note an appointment for a consultation is only for the person in whose name it has been booked. If you are a carer and wish to discuss the person for whom you are caring, we must hold a copy of their signed consent and the appointment must be booked in their name.
If you require a chaperone please inform the receptionist.
Please book all consultation appointments for a telephone consultation on-line, or by telephone on 0161 643 5960 between 08:00 and 18:30 weekdays.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
Appointments at Durnford Medical Centre can be cancelled using the web link - www.patient.co.uk/access
Patients who book a consultation appointment and who then fail to attend without cancelling the appointment and who fail to provide an adequate explanation will be viewed as having irrevocably harmed the "Doctor/Patient Relationship".
