When We Are Closedclosed_sign

If you feel you need medical advice or treatment when the practice is closed you must telephone Durnford Medical Centre on either 0161 643 2011 or 0161 643 5960. An answering machine will advise you on the possible options, either to call an ambulance/attend an Accident and Emergency Department, or contact the Out-of-Hours GP Service.

If you need to talk to a doctor and are unable to wait until Durnford Medical Centre is open please phone NHS111 on "111". All calls to this service are recorded. If it is necessary to see a doctor you will be asked to attend the "Primary Care Out of Hours Centre" at either Bury or Rochdale, and will be given an appointment.

Please note all contacts to the "Out of Hours" GP Service are monitored and recorded, action will be taken if it appears anyone is misusing the service.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999/112. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
