Repeat Prescriptions
Acute Prescription Requests
Acute prescription requests must be made by telephone on 0161 643 2011 or in writing (posted in the white box by the reception desk, between 08:00 and 18:30 on weekdays). The prescription will usually be ready for collection at 16:00 the same day or at 10:00 the following day as advised if requested by 'phone, written requests will usually be available the following day.
Repeat Prescription Requests
Repeat prescription requests can be made in writing or via the internet using the web link - www.patient.co.uk/access .
A written request should be posted to the practice or hand delivered into the white box by the reception desk. Wherever possible please use the tear off slip provided with the prescription, ticking the items required.
Repeat prescriptions cannot be requested by telephone or fax
Please use the "Prescription Pick-up" box to identify a location for us to send your prescription too. Please do not use it to try and request medications or book appointments!
Please do not request repeat prescriptions during consultations or by telephone.
Prescriptions will be posted back to you if a stamped addressed envelope is provided, please allow additional time for postage, if ordering by email and you have provided stamped addressed envelopes for this purpose please tick the appropriate box on the email form.
Some local pharmacies offer an ordering and collection/delivery service for the housebound or elderly, if you have made such an arrangement please use the "comments" box to say which pharmacy will be collecting the prescription if ordering online. If you need to order more items than there are lines available, simply return to the page and enter the additional items as a new order.
The details of your request will be sent to the surgery by email. The receptionist will prepare your prescription for the doctor to check and sign.
Whether ordering by post or email you need to allow 1 full working day (excluding weekends) and then you can collect the prescription from the surgery after 16:00 the following day.
Important Note
We can only accept repeat prescription requests for items which the doctor approved for repeat prescription ordering, and for which you have not yet used up your quota of issues before the doctor needs to review your medication. We shall usually be able to fulfil your request but occasionally there may be reasons why we cannot issue a repeat prescription for some or all of the items. The receptionist will explain when you call to collect the prescription.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
